MukAway shortlisted for national Future of Construction Award

MukAway, the Warrington-based construction technology platform transforming how the industry manages surplus soil and material, has been named a finalist in the 2026 Construction Awards of Excellence, run by the National Federation of Builders (NFB) in partnership with Build News.
MukAway is shortlisted in the Future of Construction Award, which recognises pioneering use of digital, data, technology and AI across the sector. The platform stands alongside three other national finalists in the category, with winners to be announced at a gala ceremony at The Burlington Hotel, Birmingham.
Widely regarded as one of the sector's most highly prized accolades, the Construction Awards of Excellence recognise exceptional performance by businesses, projects and individuals, and are judged entirely independently by an expert panel of industry specialists.
The shortlisting continues a remarkable run for MukAway, which was recently named Construction & Building Services StartUp of the Year for the North West at the UK StartUp Awards and progresses to that competition's national final in September.
Fraser Linaker, CEO and Founder of MukAway, said: "To be recognised as one of the businesses shaping the future of construction — judged independently, against the best in the country — is exactly the kind of validation that matters to us. We didn't build MukAway to win awards. We built it to fix a problem the industry has lived with for decades. But every shortlist tells us the same thing: the model works, and the sector is ready for it. We're proud to be flying the flag for digital innovation in construction, and we're going to Birmingham to win."
Marketing Director Ian Cheveau said the recognition reflected a deliberate strategy.
He said: "The plan from day one was simple: get MukAway everywhere. In front of the housebuilders, in front of the industry, on every shortlist that matters. When a business is genuinely doing something different, the job of marketing is to make sure the whole sector knows about it and shortlists like this, from a body as respected as the NFB, are proof that message is landing. MukAway is becoming impossible to ignore, and that's exactly where we want it."
The winners of the 2026 Construction Awards of Excellence will be announced at The Burlington Hotel, Birmingham in November. We'll be there.
