Five housebuilders re-sign with MukAway after saving over £450,000

Five housebuilders, Wain Homes, Vistry Manchester and Cheshire, Lovell, David Wilson Homes and Morris Homes, have renewed on MukAway for another 12 months after saving more than £450,000 between them.

The renewal covers the MukAway platform and the MA ESG dashboard. MukAway, from MA EnviroTech Group, is a digital platform that helps construction firms move, reuse and manage the soil and other materials that leave their sites. The aim is to reuse surplus material rather than send it to landfill, and to cut waste and cost.

"These five believed in MukAway from the very start. They backed the system, they used it, and 12 months on it has changed the game for how they look at material management. More than £450,000 saved, and all five staying, says it better than I can," said Fraser Linaker, chief executive of MukAway.

The platform works by matching a site with surplus soil, the donor, to a site that needs it, the receiver, and arranging the haulage between them. Lovell moved 3,500 cubic metres of topsoil from Adlington to Beal Lane in Shaw that way. Wain Homes and Redrow Yorkshire exchanged 2,735 cubic metres of subsoil in 198 loads, from Worden Gardens to Bankfield Lane in Southport.

The platform also keeps the waste compliance records for each move, so the paperwork sits in one place. On journeys under 25 miles, the average rate through the platform is below £10 per cubic metre.

Every movement feeds the MA ESG dashboard. ESG stands for environmental, social and governance, and the dashboard captures that data automatically, so commercial teams can see the figures when they need them.

"We have seen the savings and the data first hand, so renewing was a simple decision," said Michael Johnson, operations director North West at Wain Homes.

Housebuilders, contractors, civil engineers, quarries, treatment plants and hauliers all use the platform, which launched at the end of October 2025. It now has more than 1,000 sites and 103 companies signed up, and reaches its first anniversary next month.

The renewals follow a three-year, group-wide deal with GRAHAM, announced in August.
